Hammer Jigsaw Corner

Hammer Jigsaw Corner Review

This is a review of the hammer bowling ball jigsaw corner.

Bowling Ball Layout Used
The bowling ball drilling layout was pin under the ring finger which was 5 inches from the bowlers pap the mass bias was 2 inches to the side of the thumb hole or at 65 degrees, this was for control and a slower and earlier response to friction.

Bowling Ball Surface Used
The bowling ball surface used was the out of box finish then adjust to 2000 abralon.

Bowling Lane Conditions
The bowling lane pattern was a 40 foot house shot on wood with 22 foot guardian.

Bowlers Style
The style of bowler was a tweener with average ball speed and like to play the track area.

Test Result

In testing the hammer jigsaw corner we found this ball to have a nice arcing motion. The ball did have allot of traction on the dry area of the lane. In addition, it did seemed to play the best as an out to the dry type bowling ball. I did get some over reaction on the friction so I tried to tone down the out of box cover with the 2000 abralon. As far as pin reaction, I had good and bad, if the ball comes of the fiction at the right spot the pins had now chance, but if I came of the oil pattern wrong I got some flat hits. The ball motion was medium skid, medium transition, and a nice arcing and angular motion in the hook zone of the lane, the ball did not roll out on me and had a lot of continuation. This was my personal observation; you may get a different result do to many different factors in bowling. There is the balls description and links below so you can get more information about the hammer jigsaw corner.

Storm Reign Of Fire

Storm Reign Of Fire Review

This is a review of the storm bowling ball reign of fire.

Bowling Ball Layout Used
The bowling ball drilling layout was pin under the ring finger which was 5 inches from the bowlers pap the cg was 3 ½ from the pap or the 5x3 ½ layout this was for a slower and earlier response to friction.

Bowling Ball Surface Used
The bowling ball surface used was the out of box finish.

Bowling Lane Conditions
The bowling lane pattern was a 39 foot house shot on HPL AMF Synthetic.

Bowlers Style
The style of bowler was a tweener with average ball speed.

Test Result

In testing the reign of fire we found this ball to have a lot of hook with continuation. It did seem like a little too much ball for this pattern, but it did strike a lot. The ball reacted very well at the pocket and carried quite a few off pocket strikes. The ball did tend to roll a little early and roll straight if we let up on it. In addition, we had to make sure we got the ball out or it would go high, now this could be solved with some surface adjustments with abralon or used it on a longer pattern. The ball motion we got was shorter skid, longer and smoother transition, and a smooth continuous hook in the back end. In conclusion, the reign of fire did have a lot of hook, a couple foot of oil would help, but a cover stock adjustment would have helped too. This is a lot of ball in the mid priced range. If you are in the market for hook and do want to spend a lot on money this could be your answer. This was my personal observation; you may get a different result do to many different factors in bowling. There is the balls description and links below so you can get more information about the reign of fire.

Hammer Black Widow Nasty

This is a review of the Hammer Black Widow Nasty.

Bowling Ball Drilling Layout
The bowling ball layout used was pin under the fingers 4.5 inches from the pap and the mass bias 2 inches to the right side of the thumb hole, no balance hole was needed. This was for a slow response to friction drilling.

Bowling Ball Surface
The surface used was the out of box 4000 abralon finish.

Bowling Lane Condition
The lane conditions were and 41 foot house pattern on a AMF HPL synthetic surface.

Bowlers Style
The bowlers style was and 320 rpm and a 16 mph tweener.

Test results
Now testing the black widow nasty we noticed that the ball motion was long skid, short transition and a shorter motion at the hook zone. In addition, the ball did check up at the pocket on the hook area of the lane. The ball has a more angular ball motion on the back end and tends to have a small roll out at the pocket. In addition, it seems to play well rolling about the 3 rd arrow and out to the 10 board at the break point. It seems like a good ball for medium heavy oil patterns when the shot is a little in. This was my observation of this bowling ball you may have a different opinion do to many factors in bowling. It seems to have the same motion as all the other black widow balls I have rolled and seems to work the best playing and out and in line on the lanes.

In conclusion: The hammer black widow nasty would be a good compliment the the hammer jigsaw or for a fresh medium heavy patterns.

Hammer Cherry Vibe

Bowling Ball Reviews - Hammer Cherry Vibe

Bowling Ball Layout
The layout used was pin above the bridge and the cg stacked in the middle our grip, this would be a 5 ½ X 5 ½ layout for an inside line or drier lane conditions and for later response reaction with a lot of end over end roll.

Bowling Ball Surface Used
We did take off the out of finish with a light 2000 abralon pad, this was to smooth out the over and under reaction that the factory shine sometimes gives on a polished pearl bowling ball.

The Bowling Lane Surface
The lane surface was an older synthetic.

The Bowling Lane Conditions
The bowling lane conditions were a medium length drier house pattern.

Bowlers Style
Bowler’s style was: 16.5 mph, medium rev rate tweener.

Test Results

The cherry vibe performed pretty well on the house pattern, but I would make sure I toned down the surface with this type of ball to reduce the over / under reaction. We had a good response and the ball recovered well. The ball motion we got was long skid, medium transition and a more angular motion on the backend with continuation. The ball did not have a lot of right to left motion and did not have a whole lot of over reaction on the dry area of the lane; this could be from the surface adjustments or the type of drilling we used. It seemed to work well on the medium to drier patterns, (note: this is not a heavy oil bowling ball and does seem to need dry boards some where on the bowling lane for it to react). In addition, the vibe could be used on a short or broken down sport pattern or in your last game of league. In conclusion, the hammer cherry vide seems to be a pretty good ball at a medium price range, I would adjust the cover with a fine grit abralon 2000 or even 4000 grit. The ball would fit well with a lot of bowler’s styles on a medium to drier oil pattern. (Note: this is my opinion you may get a different result do to may factors in bowling like bowler’s skill level and bowling lane surface, as examples). There is a product description and information below.

Roto Grip Mutant Cell

Bowling Ball Reviews
Roto Grip Mutant Cell Review

The layout we used on the mutant cell was pin above the fingers 5 inches from our pap and the mass bias at 1 1/5 inches right of our thumb hole, this is a late and fast response type drilling. We did not adjust the cover and used the out of box finish. The lane conditions were a 40-foot house pattern. The lane surface was a wood surface. The bowler’s style was a medium high rev tweener and has a comfort zone at the 13th board at the arrows and swing out to about eight and nine board at the hook zone. Test results; Our observation of the reaction of the mutant cell on this pattern and with this bowler and layout was long skid, short transition and a strong, but smooth reaction in the hook zone. The ball recovered well and had great pin carry, I did like the look of this ball. However, wood does have more friction that the synthetic lanes so you may want to consider those factors. The ball responded very well on the fresh pattern, but may burn out like most balls will after the fresh in not fresh anymore. The cover can be adjusted easily; the ball rather reminds me of the storm virtual gravity as far a ball motion and reaction. In conclusion, the Roto Grip Mutant Cell Looks to be a good bowling ball with lots of recovery and pin carry on fresh medium to heavy patterns. Note: this was my observation yours my very do to may factors in bowling like examples, lane condition, bowlers style to name a few. There is a product description and a video from bowlingball.com to help you get a better idea of this bowling balls motion.

Columbia 300 Full Swing

Columbia 300 Full Swing

This is a review I did for of the Columbia 300 Full Swing. The lane conditions were a 40 foot house pattern on a wood lane surface with guardian on the first 22ft. The bowling ball drilling layout I used was pin under my ring finger which is 5 inches from my pap, Note: I have a high ball track, I put the mass bias at 2 inches to the right of my thumb hole, this is for a slower response to friction drilling. I did not need a balance hole. I am a 250 rev rate 16 mph track area bowler, so I like the slow response drilling. I first used the out of box cover then adjusted the cover stock with 2000 abralon by hand wet. Test results, well I will say I expected this ball to hook more than it does, it seems to be afraid of oil, the ball did grab hard on the dry area of the pattern and did seem to hold a line well. If I played down the oil line the ball would strike a lot. The full swing did seem to have a good hit on solid pocket shots. I adjusted the cover with the 2000 abralon to see if I got a smoother reaction or to see if I could play in the oil. The abralon did not seem to change the reaction much which I thought was odd. The ball plays very well up the oil line and will grab hard on the dry. The ball motion I got was long skid, semi short transition, and an angular arcing sytle hook. The full swing is really not a bad ball I just expected a smoother reaction. It seems to be a more medium skid flip bowling ball. So if you are looking for a medium oil ball on house conditions this may be a good one for you. Note: this is my personal observation you may get a different result do to many other factors, like lane conditions, type of bowler to name a few. There is a product description and link to get more information about the Columbia full swing below.

900 Global Bounty Hunter

900 Global Bounty Hunter

This is a review of the 900 global bowling ball bounty hunter. The bowling lane conditions were a 40 foot house pattern. The bowling lane surface was an old Brunswick synthetic. We used the out of box finish on the bounty hunter. The layout was pin above the ring finger and the cg angled to 1.5 inches the the right of the thumb hole for a later response type bowling ball motion. The tester was a tweener style and likes to play between the 2nd and 3rd arrow with belly. Results; the bounty hunter seems to fit in the category of the heavier oil ball and smoother type ball motion. In addition, it seems like it would be a good type of ball to break down the shot in the first game on longer patterns. The ball motion characteristic we got was short skid semi long transition and a smooth backend. We did have to make sure we got it out as it did not hold on this pattern it did tend to loose some energy if we got it out to far, in other words it would read the pattern to earlier and rollout too soon. If we kept it in the oil we did get a good response and good carry. The cover is easily adjustable so you can use abralon or scuffing pads to fine tune your reactions. Well in conclusion, this would be a good ball for heavier and or longer oil patterns. There is the specification, features and more information about this bowling ball below. I must note: this is from my personally observations, your results may vary do to type of bowler and lane conditions, plus many other factors.
